Yes, we already factor it into our tuition for cash and check payments.

Can I send a check for the deposit?

Please note that the student's seat is not secured until the check is received. This could take up to five days. If another student signs up for the same class and pays the deposit online, you may lose your seat. 

What if my student can't find the Driver Education Certificate that was issued after completion of the program?

Please be advised: A Driver Education Certificate (DSMV 210 RSA 641:3) is issued at no cost to the student upon full completion of the program. However, if a replacement Driver Education Certificate is needed, New England Driving Academy will charge the student an administrative fee of $150.00.

How much is the deposit to secure my seat?

$350.00 non-refundable deposit that is deducted from your balance.

Without a deposit, is my seat guaranteed?

No, your seat is not secured or guaranteed without a deposit. Your seat is at risk of being taken by another student who registers for the same class and pays the $350.00 deposit.

Do you take Venmo to save on credit card fees?

Yes, we do take Venmo.

What is the refund policy?

All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. No tuition reimbursement will be provided. 

Any student swearing, smoking, vaping, juuling, using any tobacco, lying to an instructor, impaired by any means which to include smelling of alcohol or drugs, exhibiting disruptive behavior, bullying, cheating, unauthorized cell phone use in classroom or car is grounds for immediate dismissal and will not receive any refund.

Any parent/legal guardian swearing, yelling, or displaying any disruptive behavior toward a New England Driving Academy employee(s) is grounds for immediate student(s) dismissal from the program and will not receive any refund.

Do I need a permit to drive in New Hampshire?

No, at 15 1/2, students may legally practice driving only in the state of NH if accompanied by a licensed driver in the front passenger seat who is at least 25. The student must have a copy of their birth certificate or passport.

Can I practice drive anywhere if I am with my parents?

Students may only practice driving in the state of New Hampshire.

Where will my student be picked up for drive times?

We provide door-to-door service to homes, schools, or workplaces in the Pembroke area. Students outside the Pembroke area will have a designated meeting location. The instructor will determine this during the first week of class. There will be no drop-offs other than home, school, or work.

How do I schedule drives?

You schedule drives in class with your instructor. Your instructor will designate a day on the first day of class, when drives will be chosen and will remain the same for the duration of the class.

Can I pick drive times online?

No, all drives are picked in class by the student. We expect students to know their school or work schedule ahead of time. We consider this a life skill.

Can my parent sign me up for my drives?

No, the student chooses drive times, which places the responsibility on the student. We encourage students to communicate with their parents or guardians each week about their chosen drive times. We consider this a life skill. 

Can parents ride in the vehicle to observe the instructors and students?

No. 

What if I miss a drive or cancel after the 24 hour window of my drive?

If you miss a scheduled drive and did not notify the instructor 24 hours before your drive time, you will be charged a forfeit fee of $130.00 per hour missed. No exceptions. Future drive times will not be allowed until the fee is paid.  

Can I cancel a drive and not be charged a $130 fee?

Yes, as long as you cancel the drive with your instructor at least 24 hours before your scheduled drive time.  

Driver Ed Course

When is driver education required?

Driver education is beneficial at any age, but it is required for individuals under the age of 18 who wish to obtain a New Hampshire driver's license. To meet this requirement, anyone under 18 must take an approved driver education program.

When is my teen eligible for driver education?

All students enrolled in a driver's education course must be at least 15 years and 9 months old by the first day of class.

All students enrolled in the Sunday-only Classroom Session must be at least 15 years and 9 months old by the first day of class or 16 years old by the last day of class.

What if my child is not exactly 15.9 years on first day of class?

If your child is not exactly 15 years and 9 months old on the first day of class, they will not be eligible for that class. There is no exception. This is state law. This is verified through a birth certificate or passport.

When I registered for a class, it asks for my permit number. What does this mean?

A permit is not required in the State of New Hampshire. Leave that area blank and move on to the next section.

What if my child has an IEP?

If your child has an IEP, we will work with the student to the best of our ability. However, driving schools in New Hampshire are not required to accommodate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).  

Is the first class mandatory?

Yes, you are required to attend the first day of class. No exceptions.

Can I miss more than two classes?

No more than two classes may be missed. Missing more than two classes will result in removal from the program; no refund will be given. This is a state law that requires a student to miss no more than two classes. First class is mandatory.

What happens if I miss a third class?

If you miss a third class, you will not be eligible to complete the class, and no refund will be given. If you choose to sign up for another session, you will need to pay the full tuition again. 

Can I sign up for a class and finish with another class?

No, once you are signed up for a class, you must complete that class session.
